My name is Jerome Salvador (he/him/his) and I am your 2021-2022 Webmaster! As Webmaster, I am primarily responsible for keeping this website up to date with new information as well as creating our organization’s biweekly newsletter that I hope you’re already subscribed to. I am a second year nursing major just like a few of my fellow board members so nursing students REPRESENT!

 

I was born in Quezon City, Philippines and moved to the United States when I was four years old. I grew up in a small town in NorCal called Eureka where my family and I lived for nine years. We moved a few years ago and now we reside in Santa Rosa which is just over an hour north of the Golden Gate Bridge. When I’m not studying or doing homework, I really enjoy watching movies (action and suspense are my go-to genres), watching basketball (WARRRIOOORRRSSS!!) and spending time with my family and friends. I also love traveling and exploring new places so I can’t wait for the world to fully open up again! For now, I’m excited that in person classes are returning and that I finally get to move to San Diego. An extra year at home had its ups and downs, but I’m ready to embrace college life, meet all the friends I made over Zoom and experience everything that San Diego has to offer.

 

AB Samahan truly helped me get through this past year of the pandemic and online school. I was worried going into fall 2020 as a freshman that I wouldn’t make any friends or get to know anyone from SDSU. That mindset changed when I attended my first GBM and I was welcomed by all the friendly people that I interacted with. I’m happy to say that even though everything was online, I have met so many people and created strong friendships through this organization. I can only imagine how many more people I’ll meet and friends I’ll make when we return to campus, so if you’re on the fence about joining Samahan, I encourage you to come to our GBMs and see what you think. We’d love to have you join our community!
