Lia Escober (she/her)

2nd Year Biology Major with an Emphasis in Marine Biology

APIDA(Asian Pacific Islander Desi Association) Liaison

Hi everyone!

My name is Lia Escober and my pronouns are she/her/hers. I am a second year biology major and I have an emphasis in marine biology. I’m from the Bay Area and am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to expand my definition of home to San Diego. This year, I am also your APIDA (Asian Pacific Islander Desi American) Liaison.

As APIDA Liaison, I connect AB Samahan with the other APIDA organizations as well as the APIDA Center. My job is to be the bridge of communication so that we can collaborate to support the APIDA community here at SDSU. Additionally, I ensure that Samahan has a voice and that our best interests are kept in mind.

Outside of school and Samahan, you could typically find me either exploring new cafes with friends or listening to lots of 88rising (specifically NIKI lol). I also love watching kdramas/romcoms and I always end up inserting some type of cinematic critique because I have a passion for film.

I found out about AB Samahan because a lot of my family had been involved with the organization for years. Our chairperson, Lexi, brought me in and showed me just how great the community is. The KAA program really helped me find incredible people who I am incredibly close to today and for that I am grateful. I have made so many core memories through this organization and I am so excited to make even more this year.

I love meeting new people so if you ever want to get matcha or fangirl about NIKI, feel free to reach out!
